New accessibility enhancements for Office Online

When we first built Office Online, we worked hard to make the suite accessible to blind and low vision users by using a new web accessibility standard called WAI-ARIA. While this web standard has allowed Office Online to be usable with a screen reader, we’ve made some further improvements over the past year to provide an even better experience. We are excited to talk about these improvements and have you try them out.

Last week we announced a new way to organize and launch apps in Office 365 for business cloud-based services. Today, we’re introducing the new app launcher for our consumer services—namely Office Online, Outlook.com and OneDrive. Outlook.com users have been switching apps this way for quite some time, so today’s change represents a small visual change. However, the exciting thing is that now launching apps is the same whether you’re working or tending to your personal life.
