Microsoft is excited to announce the Excel World Championship competition—#ExcelWorldChamp! Millions of people rely on Excel to get things done faster and make their lives easier. We want to meet all of you Excel fans and see what you can do.

The Excel World Championship participants will show their skills and creativity as they work through questions focusing on:

  • Data management
  • Data visualization
  • Formula writing

Excel World Champion featured imageFrom October to November 2016, Microsoft will run four rounds of Excel tests for residents of select countries. Only the top competitors in each round will make it through to the next level—until ultimately there is one Excel Champ from each country! Prizes for the country competitions vary. Residents of countries without a dedicated competition can compete in our open international competition.

In early 2017, the country champions and the international winner will compete against each other for the title of “Excel World Champ” to win a grand prize trip to Seattle, Washington, to meet with Excel product leads and help provide feedback for the next Excel features.

Round One begins October 3, 2016! For more details on the competition rules, eligible countries and registration, check out the Excel World Championship website.

  1. Where Can I Subscribme if I live in Chile?. Please send me de URL.

  2. Stuck in an endless loop of not being able to sign in. The Tech Community website says “Signed In” but then continuously asks me to sign in and I can not interact with the website – both on Edge and Chrome. With Office Blogs having no issues at all.

    • Apologies for this experience and thank you for reporting the issue. We will investigate what is happening with the community site

  3. Hi to all, I’m from Pakistan, can i participate??

  4. Hi
I am unable to login to Microsoft Tech Community. I am getting error HTTP status 500 (error below)
I am worried, if this issue continues, I will not be able to participate in #ExcelWorldChamp Competition
    Please look into this.

    HTTP Status 500 –
    type Status report
    message
description The server encountered an internal error that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

    Regards
    Papiya

    • We are very sorry for the trouble you are encountering. Thank you for flagging this, we are investigating. This error is happening most often with Safari and Opera browsers. While we work on the issue, attempt to log in with a different browser.

      • Thanks for your update Johnie, however it still the same. I tried with IE and Firefox, the issue exist there too.

      • I too am having the same problem. Tried with both FireFox and Internet Explorer.

        • Same issue here

The server encountered an internal error that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

        • Same issue with Chrome!

      • Hey Johnie,

I am facing the same problem. Can you please help me with this?

        DS

        • Once again, many apologies for this trouble. The technical team is still trying to narrow down the issue, which is difficult as it is an inconsistent issue.
2 suggested workarounds that have been successful for others:
          1) Completely close down your browser (all windows) and then attempt sign-in again.
          2) Sign-In via a browser on a mobile device. After you have set up your profile, sign-in from a PC should be a smooth experience.

Once again I am very sorry for the hassle.

          • Thanks Johnie for the response. But neither of the above mentioned workarounds worked. Please let me know once the technical team sorts this one out or you have another workaround.

          • still getting the same error, please help ASAP. We are unable to post our charts for the championship

          • Sorry for the continued pain, the technical team is still trying to track down the root cause. Another recommended work around is to try sign-in with an in-private browsing session.

    • Older versions (2010/2013) will require some free add-ins.
Please refer to your country’s contest page for more information

You can always participate using a free trial of O365

  7. Hi Team,

I am unable to register for this competition. Specifically, my account gets logged out automatically the moment I go to the ‘All Other Countries’ Page and then it doesn’t allow me to log back in.
