Mary -- the SharePoint Workflow features are in the Professional edition of Visio 2013.

Any more news on this front? With the discontinuation of Visio Premium as part of the 2013 family, which version (Std or Pro) will take over the SharePoint workflow capabilities that were in Premium 2010?

Coauthoring isn't supported in SPD, so collaborative commenting is much more powerful in the Visio client. If you're someone organizing the high-level process and expect it to be discussed and fleshed out prior to the workflow development happening, it coauthoring can make this a lot easier. Plus, it may be that the person or people who are designing the high-level workflow are not experts in the use of workflow shapes. Using the Simple shapes allow them to flesh it out without using the detailed workflow shapes but make it easier to convert to a "real" workflow later.

Great work on the SharePoint Designer side. Can we expect the Workflow Visualization feature to come back to the SharePoint Workflow Information page at any point?
