Starting today, September 8th, you are invited to apply your template creativity to our 2011 calendar template contest. Entries will be accepted through September 30th and winners will be announced October 6th - 13th on our templates home page.
How To WinWhat do you have to do to win? First, create an exceptional 2011 calendar template for Word, PowerPoint, Publisher or Excel. Then, upload it to our site. Winners will be selected based on user downloads and ratings - so after you submit your entry, tell all your friends to download your template and vote for you! Each entry will have a contest entry badge on it, which links back to the contest home page.
Winners will see their templates promoted for one week on the contest home page. And each winner will get a "winner" badge posted to their Profile on Office.com. There will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention winners.
Note:You must be sure your community filter (visible on the left side of the page) is set to "unfiltered" on the voting page in order to see the contestants.
Get StartedNot sure how to get started? We've made it easy for you this year by posting some very basic calendar templates to our site, which you can download and use to get started. Once you have downloaded these templates, use the features of Office 2007 or 2010 to update and alter them to your design.
Of course you are not required to start with our templates. Feel free to create your own from scratch. Now, get crankin' on those calendar template designs! And good luck.

Hi Nancy, is this contest open to everyone i.e. worldwide?
Hi _chimes_ this is the U.S. contest - but you are welcome to enter on the U.S. site. The contest will be rolling out in other markets at different times. So, if you always access the U.S. market, feel free to enter this contest. If your home page is another market, look for the contest announcement to appear there.
OK... soI've been trying to submit my template, and keep getting this error when I click Submit on the Registration Page.
Troubleshooting Tips:
Try the service again later.
Click the Back button in your web browser and return to the previous page, where you can try your link again.
Go back to Office.com.
Technical Information:
The server is not able to process your request.
Any other way to upload?
Hi Rich - Sorry to hear you're having difficulty submitting. I will investigate and see if I can find a solution for you. In the meantime, I'd suggest just waiting and trying again later. I will post another comment if I can track down anything helpful for you.
And thank you for creating a calendar!
Hi Rich - I'm back. It seems there is a site issue that is currently being investigated. I have no informaiton on when this will be resolved, but will post an update when I hear something. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I've submit a template but is "processing"... for more then 24h... how long it usually takes for the template to get aproved for this contest? Thanks!
Rich and Maria - the issue on the site has been fixed. You should be able to submit your templates now. Please let us know if you run into issues again.
thanks
Hi Nancy...
firstly, thanks for organizing the contest; I have some questions concerning this contest. You said some posts above that the contest will be rolled out to some other markets (Germany too?). So, if I/we submit my/our template on the US site, can we then also participate to the market specific contest with the same template? Once submitted, will the vote and download counter on the templates site start on 30th September or directly after submitting (for example before 30th).
Thanks in advance & Regards
Hi Mourad - I'll check on this for you, but since you can enter as many templates as you like, I suspect you can also enter them in different markets. You can start voting by downloading templates as soon as they are submitted.
how long does it take for your calendar submission to show up on the site?
Hi Jen - when did you post? It should show up a few hours after you first post.
wow thanks for the fast response -- hehe, yeah i just uploaded it, so i will check back in a little while -- now off to do more :) thanks so much
Great! Once they show up, don't forget to tell your friends to download them. Good luck!
Hi Nancy - many thanks for your response and clarification; we have now created a more market specific template and we will upload it in a few hours to the templates site. Have fun with it :-)
Hi Nancy,
sorry, but I must ask here a question again. I have uploaded our template on 9/26/2010 and choosen the Multicalendar category. However the templates sites still indicates in my profile (my name above) that the template is being "processed" and therefore it is not visible to the users. I tried to upload it again, but I got an error "Your submission failed because of an unexpected error." Can you please help or tell me if I did something wrong?
Thanks again.
