When we shipped Office Web Apps in June, we set out to make the Office experience more accessible so you could work from anywhere and share with anyone. We love to get input from the people who use Office Web Apps. That feedback helps us decide what features we offer next and when we make those features available. The latest updates to Office Web Apps add some much requested functionality to Word Web App, Excel Web App and PowerPoint Web App.
Here's what we added...
One of the top requests from customers we saw once Word Web App went live was the ability to print Word documents. Word Web App's viewer includes the ability to print but what we realized as we looked through all the customer feedback is that you wanted the print command in the Word Web App editor as well. Now, if you drop the File menu when you are editing a Word document you'll see this:
Not only will this make the print command easier to find but it will also reduce the number of steps required to print a document you are editing.
In Excel Web App there are two updates I want to highlight: inserting charts and the auto fill handle. Now in Excel Web App you can go to the Insert tab and insert charts. You will then be able to manipulate the data and elements of the chart in much the same way you can in Excel 2010. Here is a taste of the new UI for inserting charts:

Also, you can now use the auto fill handle in Excel Web App. The auto fill handle is a time-saving feature in the Excel desktop client that allows you to use the contents of one cell to fill in adjacent cells. For example, In this worksheet there are two columns of numbers. I am summing the first row of numbers. If I want to sum the remaining numbers in the two columns, I can grab the small black square (the auto fill handle) and drag it down:

With the addition of clip art to PowerPoint Web App you can now add high quality photos and illustrations to your presentation from Office.com’s image library. Choose from over 200,000 high-quality, royalty-free images, including selections from partners like iStockPhoto and Fotolia. Use the Insert tab to add clipart to slides with image placeholders:
You can use the Insert Clip Art dialog to search through thousands of images:
We are also happy to report that you can now select more themes when you create a new presentation in PowerPoint Web App. Once you name your presentation this dialog box comes up when the presentation opens:

Fantastic.
One thing that might be of use, is the ability to use fonts (such as TTF files), as these are often used to customize the appearance of Documents etc.
Oh yeah! Now it works with Opera 10.60. Before, Word WebApp used to keep loading at 95%

Awesome. Lack of charts and auto fill was one of my biggest complaints when Office Web Apps first came out so I'm delighted to see those come in.
Also delighted to see you introduce new features so quickly - I'm already looking forward to the next round (simultaneous editing for Excel on web/desktop/WP7 please please please).

Now if you would just allow the viewing of handwriting and drawing objects in the OneNote Web App, I'll be your best friend. :)
I like the additions to the Web Apps. I have been searching for Print in Word myself. It's a great advantage that you do not have to switch between viewer and editor for such a simple task any longer.
But WHY do you add PowerPoint themes, which are only available in the Web Apps? Like Sketchbook and UrbanPop and Kilter? Will those become available for download on the oofice.com website, so that we can use them in both the full version and the web version of PowerPoint 2010?
Please tell me that displaying (even static) ink in the OneNote Web App is one of the future features you will be sharing. As a math teacher at a school where every student has a Tablet PC, we'd love to share our work online, but unfortunately none of the ink shows: [Unknown Object]

Great to see the first set of updates since shipping OWA. Like others here, I'm hoping OneNote ink support is addressed in the near future, at least to display it.
can I open office 2003 can't open my 2003 document web app
@jose Are you trying to open an Microsoft Office 2003 document in the Office Web Apps, or are you trying to open a document from the Office Web Apps in Microsoft Office 2003? If it is the former, what is the extension of the file that you are trying to open? If it is the latter, what browser are you using?
I'm using Google browser but I using bing search Where I work they still using office 2003 And I forward all my schedule to my windows live mail but

Unable to load the requested workbook. why?
I can no longer download Excel and Word documents that are sent to my Hotmail address. Actually, I can download them, but when I try to save them they get converted and stored as a .png file that I cannot open.
This is the worst "improvement" I've ever seen. If you do not come up with a remedy soon, I will switch to gmail and Firefox if necessary. Your apps are crap.
