Listen to Us Talk About Office Web Apps

Last week I spent half an hour being interviewed for a podcast called RunAsRadio. The entire 36 minutes is now available. The first few minutes were spent talking about Clippy (the old Office animated paper clip) but eventually we actually covered Office Web Apps. I recall that we talked about what a Program Manager actually does, availability, multi-user authoring and security. Here’s the link.

  • Is there an ETA on when the ability to edit Word documents via Office Web Apps will go into the Preview Program via Skydrive? Word is a far more important and useful product than Excel or Powerpoint as a web application! Thanks.

I'm anxious to see Word too.

  • Hmm that permlink doesn't appear to work on my pc.

Check the Feb. 24 comment on that link.

  • The link at "Here's the link" above does not work for me on any of my machines using XP Pro, Vista or Win7. It merely opens another window with text only, there does not appear to be anything to click to run the podcast and nothing else happens.

  • Currently Office 2003 apps also have Office Live Workspace access/integration with the Office Live addin. Will Office Web apps integration with 2003 and 2007 apps be maintained?

  • When will the OneNote Office Web Apps configuration/deployment guide be available?

  • Is Office Web Apps only available in 64-bit?

  • It would be nice if certain office files could automatically be backed up to Microsoft Office Live Workspace every time the computer is booted up.

    Thanks

  • I was waiting for a long time something like Office web apps, since I'm always sharing information on the Internet and not always is available a MS Word version on any PC.  Because this, please give priority to word processor.

  • Hurry up and finish the Word Web App!
