About a month ago I wrote about the Technical Preview on Windows Live. Since then we’ve seen a lot of interest in Office Web Apps and received numerous requests from people wanting to try them out. To make this possible, we are opening up the Technical Preview and inviting more people to try out the Office Web Apps.
For a limited time, you can sign-up for a Technical Preview account here (if you are already a part of the technical preview, this link will generate an error): http://skydrive.live.com/acceptpreview.aspx/.documents?aobrp=browse.
The features in this expanded Technical Preview are the same as the initial preview; however, during the preview (and beyond) you can expect to see new functionality added over time. Thanks for helping us make Office Web Apps even better!

Thank You for this beautiful thing. Keep up the good work. Best thing ever.
excellent. Where are the urls for feeback, questions, bug reporting?
thanks, karl
Karl, there's a Give Feedback link in the File menu in all the apps. We look at all of them.
Why I can't edit the file that I upload?
Is it possible to have some short cut from IE to open any Office file link in internet in the Office web app? It could be right click from IE and Open with Office web app or add-on or what ever that offer this functionality. Currently I need to open file from net, upload it to Skydrive, then open it. And that come to the second request. Most of the file in the net still in Office 2003 format.
The other requst is could it be possible to open the Office 2003 file and editable rightaway. Then the office web app might mandate to save as OfficeX (2007) file format. The current process is quite a mess. First is Warning. Then user need to manually figure it out that need to Copy the old file to a new one. Then Open it, then Edit. Could the whole process more streamline. First Waring. the automatic create a new one and Edit screen. Then after user Save file, offer an option to delete the Old file format.
Anyway, the Office Web App is rock. SO COOL. If the speed to open file or edit a little faster than this (I use excel mostly.) I would be so appreciate.
Anybody can start using MS Office Web Apps, right now! Web-based MS Office, and it's FREE! To activate MS Office Web Apps just download Office 2010 Beta, and save a file to SkyDrive.

I love it. Very cool stuff, like seeing MS PowerPoint presentations complete with animations in a web browser, and using Excel on a mobile.
It would be nice to actually EDIT something from within a save file in Sky Drive.
To me, that kinda defeats the purpose of even having this up if I can't edit something someone has put up on sky drive.
I still have to download and save and put it back up. That's fine when I'm on a computer with Office; however if I'm not, again defeats the purpose.
You should just get rid of links to features that you don't have.
cool to see how they will work with the new windows mobile 7! not sure if I am a fan of the interface though
Is it possible to get the access to Office Live Web Apps preview now?
