Kin + Discontinued + Real reason = (new Office comic)

  • Comments 8

When something doesn't work out as expected, it's easy to place blame. But sometimes, it's a little too easy...

Today's Office comic was inspired by something a coworker said. Thanks, Colin!

Semi-random tip: Windows Phone 7, which releases later this year, features a cool, new user interface that combines PowerPoint, OneNote, Word, Excel and SharePoint into a single, integrated experience called "the Office hub." Read all about it on the Windows Phone blog.

  • Love it! The clippy comics are always brilliant :D

I'm sure there are some potential iPhone 4 jokes with this too - "It looks like you're trying to design an antenna. Would you like some help?"

  • Ha! Ha! Ha! That's hilarious, GoddersUK.

  • Ooo, good one!  It's great that you can poke a little at the employer-bear.

I'm not very sympathetic for the Kin, given the number of products and companies that Microsoft's products have pushed into oblivion.  About 10 years ago, I realized that Microsoft's releases of software had caused 3 companies to fold up their products, products I'd paid good money for (and had the expectation they'd continue to thrive and be upgraded).

  • David, you rocked me with this one. LMAO.

  • Glad you liked the comic, S2s and Jonathan.

S2s, I totally get what you're saying. It's hard to feel sympathy for a company that's as successful as Microsoft. I'm just proud that I work at a company that isn't afraid to fail sometimes.

  • It looks like you didn't use the Clippy Visio shape in your comic.

Would you like to use the Clippy Visio shape?

  • Ha! That is *awesome* VisioGuy (Chris). I love your Clippy shape. Thanks!
