How sharing the Office Web Apps just got better (video)

Some folks wanted me to make a video about this week’s update to SkyDrive and how it helps working with the Office Web Apps. As soon as I started working with the new features, I quickly organized my own SkyDrive and start using the Web Apps even more. I think you’ll like the changes—you asked for them—and if you haven’t started your own 25GB of free storage (SkyDrive) or the free online companions to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote (the Office Web Apps), you might want to dig in.

See more about the SkyDrive and Office Web Apps update in our blog post.

  • Phil: In SkyDrive there is co-authoring for Word, Excel & OneNote. Give it a try. I've been using an Excel Web App everyday sharing with members of my team with multiple people in the doc at the same time.

Is that enough to "pull you over?" ;-)

Need more serious online collaboration tools? Give Office 365 a try.

    Thanks for the comment--

  • Part 2, Phil. Beides co-authoring in SkyDrive, a co-worker just let me know about this video showing co-authoring across Word, a Office for Mac, and Skydrive:  http://aka.ms/ussdsv

  • Hi Doug - besides the improvements to SkyDrive, what I'm really liking is that you've added some ways to embed your videos into a website. I write frequently about Microsoft products and often would like to include the accompanying video, but was never able to get it embedded. Now I can! Just embedded this one in my client's website along with my take on SkyDrive updates. So a big THANKS!    technoinnovations.net/.../new-in-microsoft-skydrive

  • Lynn: Thanks for the comment and letting us know the embedding has improved.
