What version of Office do I have? (video)

It’s a simple thing. You want some help, we want to give it to you. However, we’d like to know what version of Office you have. 2010? 2003? You don’t know? Here’s a way to find out by just glancing at your screen.

Also, if you need to know things like product ID numbers, version number, trademark, or Service Pack information, the video shows you where to find that information in each version.

If you want to read more about version information, we have an article at Office.com.

  • Office Pro 2007 Excel.  How can I convert a concatenated cell to text (leave the result and remove the concatenation formula) so the cell can be copied, or the origin cells deleted?

  • Tom40: Hmmm, that's a bit out of my depth. Try the Excel section of Microsoft Answers: answers.microsoft.com/.../excel

  • Question:  I had 2007.  Son installed a 2010 disk from a college he was with. I did not realize it was a trial (i.e. expiration date) and tossed the 2007 disk I had.

Now, I am wanting the 2007 registration information so I can upgrade to 2010 - as I am told it should cost me less than an entire new program of 2010.  HELP?

  • JoAnn: For regular consumer versions of Office, I don't believe there is different pricing for upgrades versus new buyers. There are different programs for big businesses and the like. Also, if this is for your Son, there is different pricing for college students: www.microsoft.com/.../OfficeProfessionalAcademic2010.aspx.
