Customers ask about rotating text boxes in Word. Until Word 2010, you couldn't do it (you can only rotate image boxes). But in this short video, let me show you a workaround if you must rotate that text box.
If you have an earlier version of Word, you want to look for the Draw Text Box command. Read the instructions about rotating text in Word 2003, Word 2007, and Word 2010.

Wow, while watching your video, I found the other "workaround" command I'd been looking for--the "text direction" option. Thanks for both! :-D
Thanks. Disappointed to see that Word 2013 Beta still does not have an option to rotate text boxes. I have to listen to Mac users behind me laughing.
Make sure you click the frown face on the Word 2013 and tell us that way. Send a smile/send a frown is the best way to connect to the folks designing the product.
