The installation of Outlook Social Connector is different from most downloads. Besides downloading Outlook Social Connector (for Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003; it’s included in Outlook 2010), you must download provider files for each social network you want to connect to. Watch this short video to see how, and see the important links plus an overview of the Outlook Social Connector, below.
Note: To use Facebook in the Outlook Social Connector, you must allow a third party application (which is the default setting). If you have edited these settings in Facebook, you may need to edit them again. On your Facebook home page, click Account, and then click Application Settings.
Written instructions are at Office.com for Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003.

UPDATE: Read about the January, 2012 Outlook Social Connector update.
For Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003, you can download the Outlook Social Connector. Outlook 2010 users will be automatically prompted for an update to use these features. Then visit the provider files homepage at Office.com.

Doug, great work linking LinkedIn w/Outlook 2010, I love it! However, I must admit it's not working quite right. I'm currently on Windows 7 (64-bit) and Outlook 2010, and I've followed all the instructions and installed in order. But, Outlook does not:
1) Add profile pictures to the 'People Pane"
2) Show LinkedIn in the "Social Network Accounts" window -- and therefore does not allow me to adjust the account settings.
3) Since I can't adjust the account settings, I can't get Outlook to update contact information without prompting ("sync")
I have been able to go to LinkedIn and open vCards from profiles -- and then Outlook will automatically reconcile those -- but I'd like to be able to perform this activity for all my LinkedIn contacts at once. Is there a way you can help me to do that?
Thanks in advance for your help -- this is an awesome product enhancement!

Can you link twitter with this Social Connector?
SpotonCameron: Twitter is not one of the five soical networks the Connector uses. However, if you want to tweet in Outlook, you can use TwInbox. Here is my video on how it works: http://aka.ms/p2jk5a
I am suddenly getting an "invalid username or password" message after recreating my Outlook profile. I'm using Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 x64 and have tried EVERYTHING - reinstalling Office, recreating my Windows and Outlook profiles, reinstalling all the (providers') connectors and disabling and re-enabling OSC... disabling my (Windows) firewall and Anti-virus (MS Security Essentials).... nothing works!!! Please help.

Doug: Getting the same error as Rebecca: - Facebook and MSN connector worked great.
I am using Outlook 2010, downloaded the LinkedIn connector, executed the file, and restarted my Outlook, however Outlook is not recognizing the LinkedIn connector and is not an option in my . There are several FAQ's around the Facebook connector and very few for LinkedIn. Where can I find support resources for the LinkedIn connector? Are there steps for helping Outlook recognize the LinkedIn connector?
I have Social Outlook Connector installed along with the Linkedin connector. I have my normal mail folders (PST) and I also have an archive mail folder (PST). My Linkedin connector is pointing to my archive mail folder. I think this is the case, because all the emails/attachments listed for that person are from July 2007 (approx. date my archive mail starts). Anyone know how to correct this?

I am running Outlook 2007. I have downloaded and Installed the 32 bit connector, and Linkedin connector 32bit. Outlook pulls in the information from linkedin but as contacts are added to Linkedin, they do not update to outlook. I upgraded to Outlook 2010 and just installed the Linkedin connector, but updating Outlook still fails. Can you offer any suggestions? Thank you for your time
