The installation of Outlook Social Connector is different from most downloads. Besides downloading Outlook Social Connector (for Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003; it’s included in Outlook 2010), you must download provider files for each social network you want to connect to. Watch this short video to see how, and see the important links plus an overview of the Outlook Social Connector, below.
Note: To use Facebook in the Outlook Social Connector, you must allow a third party application (which is the default setting). If you have edited these settings in Facebook, you may need to edit them again. On your Facebook home page, click Account, and then click Application Settings.
Written instructions are at Office.com for Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003.

UPDATE: Read about the January, 2012 Outlook Social Connector update.
For Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003, you can download the Outlook Social Connector. Outlook 2010 users will be automatically prompted for an update to use these features. Then visit the provider files homepage at Office.com.

Video is jerky - continually stopping and starting. Any chance you could use a video technology that will stream ahead and buffer at the client? Alternatively, any chance you could publish a transcript of the video for people to read?
I want info in writing. I don't' care about video. get me real FAQs pealse
Hi Microsoft,
I'd really would love it if the social connector would recognize blocked feeds about Farmville etc.
On the facebook site, i've got them all blocked, but the social connector doesn't do that..
Thanks!
Arne
I don't care for training videos either. Written instructions would be ideal for the few of us left in the world who still read or still know how to read.

CRAP!!!! I don't want to share everything with everyone - I want to get my mail in my own computer for only me to read. Waste of time.
Facebook connector doesn't work . I already installed OSC for Outlook 2010.
I keep getting this message every time i install OSCFB-x64-en-us .... Update for Microsoft Outlook Social Connector (KB2289116) ... The expected version of the product was not found on the system. I'm running Win 7 x64 and Offce Pro Plus 2010 x64 ... Everything is working fine ... why won't it install ????
Bstro: The best place to get answers for these specifics in Microsoft Answers. I found this forum conversation which seems to answer that problem.

Ty Doug ... it seem alot of people are having the same problem ... thanks for thread.
Pretty cool. Works great in my Outlook 2010. Some people have pics. Some don't. It just depends on how other people's security settings are configured. I like it!
Installed the facebook one and it does not show up in my list, installed linkedin and myspace. Those show up but when I go to log in they both say invalid username and or password. For something that looks simple to use I am finding it to not be a lot of fun. I like the idea I just wish I could enjoy it :) I am using Outlook 2010 Pro.

Dear Doug,
First of all i want to take the time to thank you, for the information given. I followed your instructions on how to add face-book to my outlook 2010 64-bits, as well as the instructions that i had to follow after I received a note; "An add-on for this website fell to run", I followed the help internet options by adding this website to my trusted sites.( Everything was very simple to do) I re stared my outlook, but i still get the same massage ("an add-on fell to run"). I am receiving face-book information though.
I thank you in advance for time given to this massage, and a prompt response will be greatly appreciated.
