A quick introduction to OneNote

In Office 2010, all suites will contain my favorite program: OneNote. Instead of diving into some the new features, I just want to show you some of things you can do with the program. For more on OneNote, read yesterday's post from our ace OneNote writer or Crabby's take on OneNote. You can download the free Office 2010 Beta (with OneNote included) here; it won't expire until 10/31/10.

  • Now why is the default tab in OneNote the File Tab instead of the Home tab. Very odd and annoying when you want to markup your text...

  • Create a new note page, create a text box, insert a couple of enters, select multiple lines, click on the Bullets button on the Home tab... Did that work for you, my OneNote just crashed on me :(.

  • Hey...loved the video, and was wondering, the red and blue homing beacons around your cursor when you clicked or right clicked...was that a product of your recording software or something else you have installed on your computer.

    thanks

  • John: I'm using Camtasia for screenshots. There is an option for showing clicks.

  • "All too brief"

  • I use OneNote for about a year and very satisfied with it, although, still haven't found out many inetersting functions. Nice program for people who need to remember a lot!

  • how can I get my oneNote from my iphone to sync with my oneNote from my Exchange Outlook client for work?

  • Jerihardin: You can't. You can link it with anything in SkyDrive. I had the same situation here. What I did was take most used notebook--my to-do list and such--and moved it to SkyDrive. Then it syncs with my phone and OneNote on my computer. More help here for OneNote for the iPhone: www.onenotehelp.com/mobile6
