Edit photos in PowerPoint, save a turkey

Thanksgiving is generally not a happy occasion if you're a turkey. There are, however, a few lucky birds who get a new lease on life from the President of the United States, via a presidential pardon. To honor their escape from the block, we've created a tongue-in-wattle history of pardoned turkeys in PowerPoint.

Note that we've employed a very cool photo editing technique for making our turkey pictures pop: We created two copies of the same image. We converted one to a sepia color in the adjust function under picture tools. We used the remove background feature of PowerPoint 2010 on the other image, then color corrected, sharpened and contrasted it. We placed this copy over the sepia copy to give the image more depth and bring the focus to the turkeys.

You want a second helping? View or download the deck here, and whether you choose to pardon or eat your birds, we hope you have a happy Thanksgiving...

  • Docs.com link is not working. If you posted the deck in SkyDrive, could you embed it here in the blog?

  • Sorry Roxanne, looks like we're back up now, so try the link again. Hope that works for you!
