Mischief, a free PowerPoint add-in debuting today, fills a great need at many
schools: how to get kids involved with computers on a budget. The trick here is
up to 25 kids can interact with one computer (the teacher's) with just one mouse per student.
See how one school works with Mouse Mischief:
At Office.com we have 25
mouse templates that act as teaching guides on various subjects like arithmetic, astronomy, and parts of speech.
You can use the add-in for any other presentation, which opens
up more possibilities. Can you foresee a business usage?
Mouse Mischief is just for PowerPoint 2007 or PowerPoint
2010 (download the free Office 2010
Beta here; it won't expire until 10/31/10), but it works on the Multipoint Mouse
SDK which allows education publishers to build interactive applications.
That way one kid doesn't hog the mouse when a few students gather around one
computer. Heck, I could use that at my house.

I am just beginning to explore Mouse Mischief. It looks interesting and as I explore I am wondering how I can use this new technology in my classroom. Thanks!
Looks interesting, unfortunately, I have 36 students in my classroom. Can I expand this?
Will it work with blue tooth mice?
Donald - Information on using Mouse Mischief with wireless mice can be found at support.microsoft.com/.../2091723
Birgit - The current limit is 25 mice per Mouse Mischief. My suggestion is to have your students work in teams or take turns on using the mice.
lbarnes - You can find some great ideas on how to use Mouse Mischief in the classroom--including some sample lessons you can download--at www.microsoft.com/.../mouse-mischief

Anyone - can you give me some advice please. I've used Mouse Mischief before but since installing Win 7 and wanting to use MM this year, the ribbon is "greyed out" and inactive.
What have I dine wrong or what will I need to do?
Thanks in anticipation.
Dear Anonymous: I know Mouse Mischief works on WIndows 7. I don't know about your particular problem, but at the Mouse Mischelf help site (www.microsoft.com/.../how-to.aspx), they suggest Microsoft Answers at answers.microsoft.com/.../office.
Also the Mouse Mischief site has a set-up guide you might want to double-check.
