Saving time is everyone’s goal, right? My, arguably twisted, logic tells me that memorizing keyboard shortcuts offsets the time I’d save by using them. However, co-workers assure me that I am missing out on valuable time savings by sticking to only CTRL+C (Copy) and CTRL+V (Paste).
These Word key tips were favorites in my unofficial straw poll (and most of these key tips work in the other Office products):
1. CTRL+O to bring up the Open dialog box. 2. CTRL+S to bring up the Save As dialog box. 3. CTRL+F to bring up the Find and Replace dialog box. 4. Press ESC to close a dialog box, a dropdown list, or a command list. 5. CTRL+B (Bold), CTRL+I (Italic), and CTRL+U (Underline) to format selected text. Or, press one of the keyboard combinations and begin typing in the desired format. Press the keyboard combination again to stop typing in the format. 6. CTRL+P to bring up the Print dialog box. 7. And the hands-down favorite? CTRL+Z to undo (CTRL+Y to redo).

I don't have a favourite one. But do you have one for 'Format Painter'?
Try CTRL+SHIFT+C ... let me know if you need more information. leslie
Why not try CTRL + [ or ] Resize font size by 1 pt. Text must be highlight first (I use SHIFT + HOME or END).
Great one! I forgot to mention that when you mouse over many commands, the keyboard shortcut is identified for the command. leslie
Ahhhh great stuff, cheers Leslie. That's been annoying me for ages!
glad to help and hope we hear from you again Indy. best,
leslie
CTRL+> and CTRL+< to change font sizes. Use it lots.
Ctrl + F4 close the program :)
These are great! Thanks. leslie
My favourite has to be ALT+SHIFT+UpArrow/ALT+SHIFT+DownArrow for re-ordering paragraphs, list items, table rows. And my favourite mouse shortcut is double-clicking the edge of the ruler to get to Page Setup. (Does that still work in 2010?)
Yup, you still get the Page Setup dialog box when you click the ruler. thanks for the reminder! leslie
