Today, a study by researcher Parks Associates shows 1 out of every 5 Americans do not use email. That's 20%, folks. The same number (probably the same individuals in the study) have not used the Internet. 30% have never used a computer to create documents; which I assume means 1) they don't need to, or 2) they still have a Smith-Corona typewriter.
I've been doing stuff on the Internet for, eeek, 14 years. And I really can't think of anyone I can't communicate with Online (now, whether or not they respond in a timely manner is another thing). I may choose to write or call, but I can't think of anyone I must do this for. If you are reading this you are probably in the same bucket: most of your people are online.
Question: besides an older parent/grandparent, how often do you have to communicate to someone who is not online? (Image and link from MSN) --Doug

i guess, the World Wide Web would eventually take over the world but that to happen we all need to learn the art to communicate from the start of the root. So i guess these surveys will always fluctuate. Cheerio!
I have used emails a great deal. But complaint with my emials....viruses.....lots of macros, etc. clogging the system.
I have internet access but don't use email. I don't need email! My phone works great!! My mailbox works great!! Lately, I have started to resent alot of companies as they try to push you to "get an email account". One company wouldn't even sell me insurance unless I had an email account. Luckily for me, I reported them to the BBB and they were required to service me WITHOUT the email address after they were reported and fined by the state's insurance commissioner. (I was SO happy when they got fined - serves them right!) The digital divide is real and companies that want my business or money need to stop treating people who don't use email as second class citizens. Until the US Govt. declares a mandate that all Americans have an email account, don't disadvantage me because you are too lazy to staff your companies with people to speak with me on the phone!!
