Remember Steve Martin in "The Jerk?" One of my favorite scenes is when he runs around yelling, "The new phone books are here! The new phone books are here!" My family has long since stopped thinking it was funny when I repeat that scene when our new phone books arrive.
This morning it's feeling like that again, though. We're able to deliver free, downloadable trials for more than a dozen suites and products for the 2007 Microsoft Office system (commonly referred to as Office 2007). I remember reading that Outlook has been replaced with Windows Mail, included in Windows Vista!
If your having problems getting Outlook 2007 to install, try following these steps.
Go to "Add/remove programs" and choose previous office version.
Then select "change" and select Outlook as "Not available" this will remove previous version.
then go to the Office 2007, select " change" choose Outlook to "run from my computer"
This work for me, apparently the trial doesn't upgrade Outlook on its own. Hope it works for you!
i have the outlook 2007 issue - only trouble is that after uninstalling the 07 version, my old office xp pro now no longer works either! arghhhhh!
keith0 - you are a bloodddy genius did exactly as you said, and voila i can see my emails and contacts again. Probably will now have to upgrade, but at least my prior life has not been eradicated! if ever u make it to seattle, i'll buy you a beer!
Seems like typical MS: In all the come-on to activate 07 Office trial, nowhere to find the price if you convert to buy it. How much will Office cost at the end of the 60-day trial???

Fantastic tip. I installed Outlook 2007 and had it up and running.
Then I went back and installe dthe rest of Office and it uninstalled Outlook. When I tried to add it back - it was Unavailable. I couldn't figure out how to make it Available until I read your tip. It worked great!

everytime I try to download Microsoft Office Standard 2007 60 day free trial it downloads all the way to when I put in the produce trial key after and a few minute later error window says that doing setup an problem encountered & tell me to close this happen each time I tried HELP

Well, I got my copy of MS Office 2k7 from an Aussie mag, and they gave an address to go to get the serial number, and guess what, I was given the choice of the United States of America as my country. Instantaneous electronic migration!!! Any colour you want, as long as it's black!!! I'm starting to think Microsoft either thinks we're all mushrooms and can be fed anything they like, or they just aren't serious about customer service.
Isnt America the only place in the world??? Followed closely by 'those of us outside the US' such as:
Canada, Japan, Germany, UK/Ireland and France
