This feature is configurable, too, so you can determine how frequently you want Word 2010 to save the document you&amp;#39;re working on. &lt;p&gt;As for the &amp;quot;cancel save&amp;quot; dialog, that does sound frustrating. You might be experiencing a conflict between frequent manual saves and automatic saves. Do you have AutoRecover enabled already? Or perhaps it&amp;#39;s a conflict with an add-in, have you installed any add-ins?&lt;/p&gt;

There must be a setting that allows background saves and allows me to keep on working on the document. I have not dealt with having to wait for my document to save since the early 1980s! Furthermore what is with this Powerpoint &amp;nbsp;&amp;quot;cancel save&amp;quot; feature, that appears to put my document saving command on hold until is counts slowly to 10 (or may 25) to give me time to change my mind about whether I really want to SAVE my document? To a person who chronically presses ctrl s to keep from losing changes this is exasperating!&lt;/p&gt;
