Do you know of any specifically supported iPhone apps that can connect to Sharepoint 365? If so could you advise. could you also advise if the 365 sharepoint site needs to be set up in a special way and if the url for access is the same.

Regards.

The iPhone is fully supported by Exchange Online, not sure what your problem is. Hard to tell without looking at your setup. Couple of things to check. Is the inbox set to be synchronized? Does the device show up on OWA under Mobile Devices?

I'll contact the SharePoint folks to confirm though.

Office 365 supports the Safari browser, version 4.x. As you say in your post, I would expect since the iPad runs an abbreviated Safari browser, that you will have most of the functionality, although some things (like editing as you mentioned) might not work. I do not have a list of what does and does not work.

A simple search finds these two results:

1) Apparently there is an app for that: currents.michaelsampson.net/.../sharepoint-2010-on-the-ipad.html

2) THis video shows SharePoint 2010 in use with the iPad http://vimeo.com/10690956

@Alistair: Not exactly. Office 365 for small business doesn't come with Office Pro Plus but still provides many of the benefits (hosted email, SharePoint, Lync), while some Office 365 for enterprises SKUs come with Office Pro Plus. Having both together will add even more capabilities and productivity scenarios.

@Janet: Your purchasing address must be in the countries that are specified as hacing access to Office 365. And you will be able to access Office 365 from anywhere with an internet connection, regardless of whether that place has the ability to purchase the service from us.

@Dennis Vlasich: Thanks for the comment Dennis. I would say first that with Office 365, Exchange Online (formerly OWA) has been redone to be much more feature comparable to having Exchange synced with Outlook 2010. Secondly and on that point, Exchange Online in Office 365 can by synced to the desktop Outlook client, so to your end users, it should't be any differnt than what they have today.

I think these Service Descriptions documents can help you with your feature comparisons.
