This week's Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) reminds me of John Donne's poem "No Man is an Island." Microsoft has a vast network of partners of all sizes, all of whom play a critical role in making our products and services a success. To put it in Donne's words, every one of our partners is "a "piece of the continent, a part of the main." I am humbled by the incredible creativity and commitment that each one of our partners brings to the mix.
WPC 2013 has been a remarkable event. Among the highlights: We announced Power BI for Office 365, a new self-service business intelligence (BI) offering that enables businesses to gain insights from their data in powerful new ways within Excel and Office 365. We made it easier for partners to transition their customers between different versions of Office 365.We discussed the Windows 8 partner opportunity. We released research showing that partners with more than 50 percent of their revenue related to the cloud have been benefiting from higher gross profit. And we honored our top-performing partners.
If you haven't yet, please check out the guest blog posts from Palmetto Technology Group, Wortell, SkyKick, CDW Corporation, and Sapienta Holdings--some of the many Microsoft partners who are helping customers migrate to Office 365. Also, please see our announcement about the availability of the Office and SharePoint Store in 22 new markets.
Here is a round-up of some of these and other key news items from the last couple weeks:
