Pardon Our Dust Take 2: More Office 365 Provisioning Testing

Update: We are running another round of provisioning tests to the Office 365 system tomorrow, 5/24. Over the next three days (5/2-5/4), we will be proactively running several tests on the Office 365 provisioning system. By intentionally poking, prodding and stressing the system, we expect new accounts could experience slower set up times.  NOTE: This will only affect customers going through the setup process for their very first time.  We do not expect any noticeable impact on existing Office 365 beta accounts.

How can I help?  I’m glad you asked! If you receive your beta invite during this time, by all means please sign up.  It will help us collect more data during our testing, so we can improve the platform.  We just want you to be aware that when you get to the startup page you will see the following (may vary slightly depending on account):

During this timeframe, your account setup might actually take up to a full day, rather than the immediacy you expect. We appreciate your patience and help testing the system.

If you experience this, feel free to sign out, close the browser, power down the laptop, grab lunch, watch a replay of the royal wedding, enter the Office 365 contest on Facebook -anything!  We don’t want you to wait around, so we’ll e-mail you when it’s ready! (see below)  In the meantime, you can also find some really great getting started resources on our community site:

1)      Read the Quick Start Guide for small businesses or enterprises

2)      Browse our Getting Started pages for small businesses or enterprises

3)      Read our Blog and Wikis or watch some demos of Office 365 on our Showcase video channel

  • I signed up for beta last week and yet no receive invitation to the software, did not received any email

  • Likewise, signed up a week ago and not heard anything

  • Likewise, maybe the email is gone into Spam? Can you give any hint on the email header to look for? "Microsoft" or "Office" brings tons of hits in my Outlook Spam folder.

    thanks Jan

  • Nach der SharePoint Kaffeetasse wird es Zeit für ein Office 365 Kaffeetasse, die Sammlung Handverlesener

  • To clarify, this affects users who have signed up AND then receieved then activated their new account credentials during the test time period. Sign ups are not affected, it's provisioning that is being tested.

  • Yes also signed up, where is the invite:-)

  • Perfect timing - received the invitation today, signed up half an hour ago or so.

Lync Online is still setting up. Exchange Online seems to be half-functional - can setup Outlook, but can't receive mail (bgifish complains about too many hops).

  • Thanks.  I am currently in set up phase. What should I be looking for if anything?

  • @Esther and Surya: Great to hear you are getting setup on the beta. Just singup and use like you would normally, we just expect it to take a bit longer than usual. Just wanted you to be aware, there is no required action on your part.

  • It's too long (2 Weeks) to wait for the request acceptance
