Picture Styles are one of those things. It’s hard to do justice to the simplicity and impact of this

Compress Pictures

I believe images pasted from the clipboard are stored in the document as bitmaps. I would be great if your Compress Pictures feature converted bitmaps to JPEGs. This would be as effective, if not more, than deleting cropped areas and reducing resolution.

It's a really cool feature...I ended up buying a program to do it because I couldn't get Narrator in Vista to read in Word, and Word no longer has the feature. I'm not using it for accessibility reasons, more a final proof, but I would imagine a lot of people were dependent on it. And if Narrator can't read Word files, well, then it seems Word should never have lost that feature. I know you guys are busy, but if you can help me out here, it would be greatly appreciated, as I told all my writing cronies about it, and now they're asking me how to access it in 2007 (:

I used to say "Word is for words that's why it's called Word" when people attempted real graphic design in Word. However I do like 2007 :-)
