Why is my envelope double spacing?
Patricia --
I think Word is trying to use paragraph spacing inside the Address box. if you click Add to Document, instead of clicking Print right away, you can change the formatting of your envelope text before you print.

I have the same problem with double spacing in the address delivery box, in Word 2010. When I click Add to Document and try to change the format, the delivery address ends up under the return address - single spaced, but in the wrong place. Any other suggestions?
I am trying to print several return envelopes on my laser printer with the same info for a mailing. I see how to print one envelope, but how do I save a file for an envelope over and over again, then how do I print several at a time?
How do you change the default font in a return address for envelopes without having to change it each time you want to print an envelope?

Good question, and it's going to require a little more research. In the meantime, have you tried answers.microsoft.com?

In the Envelopes and Labels dialog box, on the Envelopes tab, click Add to Document. Then save the document. When you want to print out envelopes, set the print range for page 1, and then select the number of copies you need. (In Word 2010, you can also click the print preview button so that the envelope is showing, and then click Print Current Page, and select the number of copies that you want.)
It's ridiculous that Microsoft removed the ability to add the POSTNET bar code to for a delivery address on an envelope for Word 2010. This was such a useful feature that definitely enabled mail to be processed faster in Word XP/2003. Joannie, why did Microsoft remove this feature? Thanks.

Basically, the USPS changed its coding, so the barcodes that Word provided wouldn't work. You can read details about this change here: support.microsoft.com/.../897290.
My helpful colleagues have provided an answer. On the Home tab, in the Styles group, click the Styles Dialog Box launcher. Click Options, and under Select styles to show, click All Styles. Then, in the Styles task pane, point to the Envelope Return style, click the arrow that appears next to the style name, click Modify, and make the changes that you want. To change the font for the recipient's address, change the Envelope Address style.
trying to enter addresses for mailing envelopes, ie: christmas list. Cannot find location to enter addresses and also , not sure on entering data on the envelope. tried mail receipients and did not work...HELP

From your comment, I'm not sure whether you're trying to put in addresses one at a time (which is what this post covers) or whether you want to do a mail merge (in which you enter addresses in a data source--such as an Excel worksheet, and then merge the addresses and print all the envelopes).
How do I change the line (paragraph) spacing - i.e., space between lines - in the address of an envelope? I'm getting double spacing and can't find a way to change it.
Good Morning. I have MS Office Professional Plus 2010 installed. I'm trying to print an envelope when I have a Word doc opened (typically will print 1 - 5 envelopes from one document).
I place the cursor within the address (the address is typically within a table). Click Mailings. Click envelope icon. An envelope is created but has the header and footers of my documents. I can delete the header, although I would prefer not to have the document header on the envelope because the header pushes the return address down.
Anyone run into this? And perhaps have a fix? Thanks for any/all help!!
Every time I try to print an envelope it comes out in red. Font is set to automatic for color. Even if I set the font to black or blue, it still comes out red. How can I change this?
