@NAUD The shortcut key for Animation Painter is Alt+Shift+C. @Blakes The video and animation timelines are the same, so they have to coordinate. To run animations while a video is playing, be sure to set the "Start" property (just above "Duration" and "Delay" on the Animation tab) to "With Previous." You can add a delay if you want the animation to start after the video starts playing. Another option is to setup a video trigger. To do this, add a bookmark to the video at the point you want the animation to start (see playback contextual tab when a video is selected). Then, add the animation to the object and click the "Trigger" button on the Animation tab. From the drop-down menu, choose "On Bookmark" and then select the bookmark that corresponds to that animation. -Chris

The 1st click is supposed to stop the background animation. The 2nd click switches to the next slide.

Do you have a solution for running animations during video playback? I have other animation I want to happen on the screen while a video plays and it does not look like PPT2010 can handle playing both in the timeline. When I add the video it "pauses" the other animation as it waits for the video to complete playing. Please help.

Just downloaded the Office '10 beta and played around w/ the PowerPoint. The new features are great, but it doesn't have the stuff that ease the process of making transition/animation (i.e. Magic Move). I have always been (and still a Windows person) and it is a shame for Apple to keep its iWork Keynote to themselves. MS really needs to step up and create a better "update", since most stuff haven't changed at all. MS should acts like Apple and stop supporting the Office Suite to Mac!!

please add the "Magic Move" feature like the one in "Apple Keynote", it makes animations much more easier and work more productive when you have hundreds of animations to make

@thenonhacker The two click sequence you describe will work in PowerPoint 2007/2010 (the first click will fast-forward to the end of the animation on the master, the second should will advance the slide). If you're seeing something different, perhaps you'd be willing to send a sample file to pptblad at microsoft dot com so that we can check it out. @Lillianne In PowerPoint 2010 we have introduced a brand new tab for animations located right next to the transitions tab. Select an object, then choose an animation from the in-ribbon gallery to apply an effect to that object. -Christopher

I've used this effect in PowerPoint 2003 using images, and on the Master Slide, too. That means, every slide has CNN-like animation. BUT I have one problem: The presenter should make 2 clicks (instead of 1) to move to the next slide. The 1st click is supposed to stop the background animation. The 2nd click switches to the next slide. Is this fixed in PowerPoint 2007?
