@Eric Gatz- If you save your presentation to the .pptx (Open XML) format, you will be able to play an embedded video without effects in PowerPoint 2007 with SP2. However, if your presentation is saved to the .ppt (binary) format, the videos will be saved as pictures you and won't be able to play them in versions earlier than PowerPoint 2010.

@Bob Michaels - In PowerPoint 2010, you will be able to play videos behind the active presentation. Although you won't be able to set the video as the background, any video you put on your slide masters/slide layouts, or just behind other shapes will STAY behind everything else. Let us know if you run into problems with this.

@kmint - Have you installed the Office 2010 Beta on that machine? I'd expect our PowerPoint 2007 viewer to install and work. Hi. I purchased Windows 7 x64 and Power Point Viewer doesn't work. Any version. Is there any free viewer available that runs in W7x64? Thanks.

Hi Alessandra, Loading this template in PPT 2007 will work except for the Bounce End animations that are new in PPT 2010. Give it a try!

what happens if you load this template in ppt 2007? does it work? How is the backward compatibility of presentations?
