Updated! New to PowerPoint Web App: Embedding presentations on the web

Note: If you’re in an RSS reader and can’t see this presentation, click here to view it full-size. To learn how to do this yourself, check out this walkthrough or visit http://office.com/embedpowerpoint.

We’ve also made some interesting announcements on the Office blog:

In just over 100 days since we launched, more than 20 million people have used Office Web Apps to view, edit, and share Office documents from anywhere with a browser and an internet connection. Today we're releasing more new features—based on your feedback (more than 25,000 comments so far)—and we're making Office Web Apps available in 7 more countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Russia, and Switzerland (in addition to countries we're already live in: US, UK, Canada, and Ireland).

  • Hi!

Seems it's not working for my Live Account. The embed link is just different than yours.. why :(

    Check the examples:

    tumotor.mx/.../prueba-power.html

  • Hey Jorge, what browser and version are you using?

  • I'm using Chrome 4.1.249.1045

    and

    I'm also using IE 8.0.6001.18702

  • Can you let us know what locale you are in? The Office Web Apps have not been rolled out to all locales. You can go to http://account.live.com to find out. Also, can you let us know whether or not you can view/edit the file that you're trying to embed? Thanks,

    Sean

  • Hey Sean! Thank you so much!

I just changed the locale (Spanish) to English and it's working now!!

    =)

  • Is it possible to resize the size of the PPT embed? If I manually change the size in the HTML code it just magnifies the placeholder, but the ppt slides keep their same small size on the page.

  • Unfortunately, no, it's not possible to change the size of the embedding. It's certainly something we'll think about for a future update. Thanks,

    Sean

  • The PowerPoint Web App is running into content it either doesn't support, or is handling incorrectly.I am using axMSChart objects to display charts in my VB .Net Windows Forms App.I am also trying to export them to a PowerPoint presentation which I automatically generate using Office Interop. powerpoint templates

  • @drlpicardo Could you send a sample file to pptblfr AT microsoft DOT com? Thanks, -Chris

  • its nice to find something here, thank you
