Do not upgrade to Outlook.com and expect it to work with Outlook 2013. This has been heart-breaking. A persistent error message will say that "too many devices are syncing..." The help forum has about 1000 messages in various threads begging for their accounts to be repaired. Except it can't be. You will be told you're an idiot for trusting a Beta product with valuable info. There is a dysfunctional work around where you manually reconfigure Outlook.com as a a POP account. It will not syncing most of your inbox, none of your contacts, and forget that calendar you've been relying on. Microsoft doesn't give a damn about the 1000+ users who've pleaded to have their accounts restored so they can just sync ONE device. Nope, EAS or Active Exchange WILL CONTINUALLY LOCK UP with this message unless you request to have your account "reset" by a kind-hearted moderator. Then DON'T readd you Outlook.com account or forget it! If Outlook.com can't handle 1000 users, it would be a crime against humanity to turn 1 billion lives upside down! No fix! No acknowledgement. Nothing! We're screwed!

"There are too many devices syncing with this account" Error Code 0x80004005 I Can't access account through email client.

The error experienced is as follows:

"There are too many devices syncing with this account"

File: outlook\pstprx\storeas\utils\airsyncstatuscodes.h

Line: 88

HTTP/1.1 200 OK

FolderStatus: 177

To re-try press F9...

Error Code: 0x80004005"

The error pop up renders Outlook 2013 useless because the pop up blocks the ability to interact with the software. I can't even get to my Exchange Server email and calendar which are also synced to Outlook because of this.

For others having the same issue with Outlook 2013 check the MS Community forums here - answers.microsoft.com/.../40f38a18-e88e-4165-b62e-04158049eaa1

The MS people in the support forum keep suggesting to use POP3 which doesn't even syn contacts or calendars.

Be forewarned that using Exchange Active Sync to sync your Hotmail messages, contacts and calendar to Outlook 2013 is not ready for prime time. It might work for a while but once you try to sync just a few devices like a laptop, desktop, phone and tablet you will get the too many devices error.

It doesn't help that if you use your Hotmail account as a login to your Windows 8 machine, that will most likely count against your device quota even if you don't use the built-in Windows 8 mail app.

(or create a selection window where the users can decide which calendar dates they want so see in the todo bar and the counting of elements to shown. this would be very nice! :)

From one day to the next I am never sure how many contacts I will actually have within the Outlook 2013 client... I am somewhat thankful at least they seem to just disappear and reappear in the desktop client not at people.live.com (which I consider my master contact list) but its really frustrating to have to constantly be looking up email addresses on the web page because the sync fails so hard (using Outlook 2013 RTM 64bit/Windows 8 Pro 64bit btw)

My company has just *downgraded* Office 2013 to Office 2010 because of it!

Why? Two things: The first one is not related to Outllok.com: Horrible support for IMAP servers; the other one is: Super-horrible support for Outlook.com accounts.

Among other things - just look around the net, you'll find dozens (thousands?) of people complaining - Outlook 2013 does NOT support contact groups in Outlook.com accounts. Yes, I know, it does not make any sense, but it is true... :-(
