If I'm not mistaken, previous MS versions have their own connectors.

Maybe I'm missing this, but I don't see any way to know what version we're currently using of the Outlook Social Connector. I've checked in Outlook Options > Add-Ins which I thought was the most logical place and although I see it there, I see no version information.

I would like to vote for a separate switch that would allow connection to social media accounts that is separate from Outlook's 'work offline' switch. I work with Outook offline all the time to control the volume of SPAM. I have six email accounts for different businesses, so the volume of SPAM is absurd. To control that I use a third-party application (not an addin) called MailWasher that color-codes potential SPAM and allows me to preview all email at the server level before downloading it into Outlook. It only works if you're offline in Outlook.

Having a separate switch for allowing access to social media accounts would give me the best of both worlds. Based on the above workflow, I am not able to access any social media through Outlook.
