I strongly disagree. I was very disappointed with the color scheme used in outlook 2010. I was used to black scheme of outlook 2007. One very particular thing bothers me a lot:

reading pane has different color than navigation one.

I'm not alone - many people around the word in different forums where complaining about this. Personally I find it very hard to read emails this way. My eyes are distracted with navigation pane when reading them (emails).

I know, maybe some people actually likes this new settings. What bothers me is there's no way to fallback to "classic" settings. Each release new look doesn't necessary mean a good thing.

It totally rots. The darkened calendar and notes on the right side do NOT make them stand out to me, it puts them in the background. And I WANT lines that separate my different options, like Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items etc. If you HAVE to leave this scheme the way it is, can I at least please have colors that are pleasing to me? This is horrid. I will not buy this for home.

The main problem is that the look and feel differs from the Windows default and the colours within the available colour schemes are so similar that it is impossible to determine where the edges of one window are when several windows are overlaid.

I use many applications beside Office for my work and I need to be able to identify active and inactive windows quickly and easily.

If the title bar and window edges simply followed the selected Windows scheme, then this would be possible; I would (probably)be able to live with the changes within the application window (which deviate from the selected Windows scheme).

The Baby Blue scheme is just about useable and does not conflict too badly with the Windows Classic scheme (which provides good contrast and readability), whilst the other two schemes are totally unusable.

I cannot understand how microsoft management has allowed the Office look and feel to be titally divorced from the standard Windows look and feel. Are thet realy more into flower-arranging than customer productivity?

Your color scheme is HORRID!!! Why would you stick the user with 3 colors and think they would be ok with that? And why would you assume the user wouldn't WANT borders around their buttons? Why not give the USER THE OPTION to choose if they want borders and choose from a VARIETY of colors from a color palette!!!??? Not everyone has good eyesight like apparently you do!

Truly a step backward. No consideration for user, for readability, for usability. Unfortunately it lacks an option to make it look like 2007. Maybe Microsoft (or someone) could offer a skin that somewhat accomplishes this. Cardinal rule of usability (usability 101) -- white background, black text is easiest to read and work with. Under current skins, can barely distinguish my folders. Fonts are comical.

Like one of the other posts, it would be great to add new features, but took take away many of the options that we had and liked is not smart. For the first time, we are considering finding a new option. Outlook 2010 is bland, washed-out, and poorly color coordinated. It is difficult, and in some cases impossible, to customize and configure to improve contrast in color pairs of key features. The Calendar is just awful! The Color scheme options (only 3 options: blue, black and silver) make the readability difficult and unpleasant to the eyes. The 2003 Outlook “Week” Calendar (with the block days) was great, but that option has been removed. The new "Week" option (vertical) is too busy and difficult to read. The productivity in the office has suffered with Outlook 2010! The fact that I bothered entering this post shows that…

There is too much wasted space, the font is horrible and the color schemes make it more difficult to read, not easier.

i'm disappointed that the folder view no longer allows you to see Calendar, Mailbox, Tasks and Notes. It's truly a pain to have to switch back and forth, and I've lost productivity trying to get used to this new look and feel

i'm really disappointed that I cannot get rid of all the white space, anymore that is wasted by the group headers. I used to turn that off IMMEDIATELY whenever I configured a new install for a USER. it's better to see MORE on the screen not a bunch of white space!! argh.

some of the new features are helpful, but i'm still trying to get past wasting time because the interface has too much white space and not enough space to see all the folders and emails I want to see on the screen at once.

I'm quick with Technology, but struggling with this new look
