  • Im 71 and like most my age know little about computers.  I have a new dell computer and with it outlook 2010/  Im home page is yahoo and on it i a box labeled "mail".  i click on it to receive and send my email.  its my understanding my email service and provider is att.  now my question.  when i scan a document under "windows fax and scan" the top of the page tells me i can email this attachment.  yet if i click on the "to" it does not pull up any contacts...and even if i key in a contact, their is no "send" button.  i talked to several people at windows, and with all due respect understood little of what they said.  some told me i would have to "activate" outlook while another told me it was activated.  finally, i was told to save the scanned item to my desktop, go back to yahoo and send it as an attachment to my email...which i did successfully.  is outlook an email service to be used with scans and faxs, why doesnt it pull up my contacts when i hit "to" and why no "send": button.  i know to some of you these questions will be laughable but i don't have a clue.

  • Hi,

  • I was running outlook 2003 and now have upgraded to outlook 2010.  in 2003 I created an icon to launch a website from within outlook.  I copied an existing and then edited it to change the name and command to execute.  I have search everywhere in 2010 and cannot see how to do the same.  I can copy a commend on the quick launch for example but the "Modify" button is greyed out.  Is there no way to do this in 2010?

  • Hello,

Not sure where I can post this but I wanted to share with all the readers that I had an issue in which a user's Outlook account (OST file) was corrupted and after removing the account from the network I was not able to recover the OST file. I found that using the Connect option under Recipient Configuration in the Exchange Management Console, I was able to connect the email account to a user that did not have an email account associated with it. This allowed me to recover the user's emails and forward them to the user's new email account. I know there is not a recovery tool for OST files but this worked for Exchange 2010 and though it was worth sharing.......John
