Funciono, gracias! pd: solucionen el problema!!!
Following the described procedure, I avoided a crash. However, when Outlook starts, it shows an error:
"Error opening xxx . yyy",
where xxx and yyy are varying chinese characters. Uninstalling osc helped. My System: Windows 7 pro, Office 2010 Vwersion 14.0.4536.1000.
You should tell people this BEFORE they install the OSC on the webpage and it crashes Outlook over and over and over and over...
Followed instructions- still crashes. uninstall the OSC and Outlook works fine...
I initally had the social sections displayed as well the mail thread. Once I downloaded the LinkedIN add-in they all went away. I followed the steps listed above but when i open up Outlook I do not see the mail thread or the social connector. Once I open Outlook and I to click on a tab to show these items?
hi, When Outlook start shows an error: "Error opening [Chinnese letters]", System: Windows 7 pro- English + Office 2010 Beta in Spanish.
Followed instructions. Outlook still crashes. I uninstall OSC and works fine. Not sure what do try next.
Followed instructions. retried it many times. but outlook still get the error: error opening (chinese letters)
OK...it didn't work for me initially...no Chinese letters, but it kept crashing even after the above instructions. Here's what I did to get it working. I think the key step was toggling the original OSC on and off again. 1. Launch Outlook with no extensions (at the run prompt type "outlook.exe /noextensions" without the quotes and click OK.
2. File --> Options --> Add-Ins --> Manage COM Add ins
3. Uncheck the social connector, OK your way out and close Outlook.
4. Uninstall the Social Connector beta via Add/Remove Programs.
5. Turn off Social Connector in original Office installation as above.
6. Go in and turn it back on to try and repair it.
7. Go in and turn it back off as above.
8. I also removed the MS Office Send a Smile, probably unrelated but figured I'd share exactly what I did.
9. I installed the OSC beta.
10. Was not active when I went into Outlook, so I did File-->Options-->Add-Ins-->manage COM add in and checked the box again.
11. Closed Outlook.
12. Installed the Linked In Connector.
13. Works great!
Tried what eft suggested and it corrected the blowup issue. I did NOT remove send a smile. I had performed a clean Office 2010 Pro installation and never installed the original OSC addin. Looks like installing this component must install some required components that the new OSC package omits?
Followed instructions- still crashes. uninstall the OSC and Outlook works fine... I also tried to play with /noextensions (see post of eft) - no luck
System: Windows 7 32bit / Office 2010 beta both german Installed Office 2010 beta without Social Connector Addon Installed OSC beta Changed installation of Office 2010 beta and added Outlook Social Connector via Add/Remove Feature started Outlook, no "error opening" installed linkedin connector no "error opening" either does this work for you too ?
Seems it doesn't work with outlook 64bit. ah..
It does not work for me
But after that scenario it started to blow "Error opening chinese letter" except of "Error opening 1 1 chinese letters"
