As many of you know, the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector for Windows Live Hotmail recently exited beta. This blog has seen a lot of traffic and has received many comments about the connector since it first arrived. It is great to see such enthusiasm! Since the community was so active during the beta period, we were able to track down and fix more issues and ultimately release a better product.
Since the connector shipped, we’ve gotten a lot more great feedback and questions. Answers to lots of the common questions, including installation, basic functionality, and issues related to upgrading from the beta, are below.
The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document has some great information in it for beta testers and for customers who have upgraded from the beta, so please take a look. The FAQ can be found on the Microsoft Download Center along with the installation files for the latest release. The FAQ is only available in English and is available in Word 97-2003 and Word 2007 formats.
Take a look!

Jared, That is nice...but what about those of us who have paid for Premium access? It is quite frustrating to pay for something that has stopped working....if you need any additional information that could help your team fix these problems, please ask! I know that I and probably most of the other people here would give you the information you may need. as for what peterawest said, I don't have a PDA, but my LG CU500 GSM phone does sync with Outlook via bluetooth. However I have not had any issues in the past.
Hi We too are paying for a number of email accounts. We've only started experiencing this problem over the last day or so. We are all on the same custom domain, and yet some people have been able to continue working fine. Mirroring Robert's comments above, I'm extremely frustrated that we are paying for this service specifically because we can use it with Outlook, yet it seems that it just isn't ready for business. It seems that you have known about this problem for over two weeks, but haven't:
a) warned people
b) apologised
c) offered a refund for failure to provide the promised service Please will you give those of us who pay for this service and rely on it for business use a clear indication of when a fix will be issued. Otherwise we, like others I suspect, will be defecting to another provider. John
I use Outlook Connector and Outlook 2007 and it constantly crashes as well. I have to restart the program every once a while. That "could not sign in" problem happened to me on Wed, too. I was able to check webmail but not able to use Outlook. It's been really annoying. btw, I don't have a mobile device, it's all on my desktop computer.
Jared I'm getting similar problems as other posts here - since upgrading to the latest version of OC I can't synchronise one of my Hotmail Live accounts (the other two still work fine!). I get the "Outlook Connector is available only to subscribers" message. I'm not using any mobile devices and am running OC with Outlook 2003 on XP Professional. Thanks in anticipation - Mark
I have the same problem as Kings and most others, the old beta version was working perfectly and then I was forced to upgrade the other day and since then can't connect. Log says Error in Mail Outlook Connector is available only to subscribers. It looks on the face of it like MS made mail sync a paid feature? Or has someone messed up and done/not done something on the back end? I am also syncing via a WM5 device if that is relevant.
Jared, good to hear you're on it - can you give some rough estimate for fix release?
Just thought i'd add my problem as well Using Outlook 2007. Outlook connector worked great during Beta I was prompted to upgrade a couple of days ago and it hasn't worked since Log below

obviously now it's friday evening no-one gives a rat's a%se, but i have been trying to fix my outlook for 2 hrs now and not being a techie, funnily enough have got nowhere. my problem is the same as many above it seems: everything ran fine until this morning when i installed the updated outlook connector, and now outlook won't run as i cannot sign in, and nowhere on these help pages is anything useful. i phoned micrfosoft and they said speak to your pc vendor (Dell). i phoned Dell and they said "hey, it's microsoft, so why you phoning us??" come on guys, sort it out! it worked until you started effing about with it! for the record (not that nayone is gonna read this) this is the error message i am getting: Outlook Connector Version 12.0.4518.1063 Account: &^&^(_)%$@hotmail.co.uk Session timed out. Automatically re-signed in at 28/09/2007 17:35:17 Mail: Calendar: Contacts: Errors : Time: 28/09/2007 17:35:18

Is there a time frame for the fix?
My email has now started synching again. All loooks good. Fingers crossed.
Jared, Same problem as everone else until this morning. Apparently Outlook Connector fixed itself during the night. Is this a miracle I should report or did you guys do something. This is a major headached for lots of folks (Office Live website for me). Could you advise us on what's going on? Thanks
Appears that it started working again this afternoon.
Hi Everyone,
We have fixed the issue that was causing sync errors with custom domain accounts. You may need to reboot Outlook for our fix to take effect. Thanks for your patience,
Jared Brown, Outlook Program Manager
Hello, Is it possible to send mail "on behalf of" with the Outlook Connector like it is possible on the web interface of Hotmail? Thank you
I had the same problem as everyone else. It then fixed itself. Now I can't download any emails in to outlook. When I check the send/receive box, none of my accounts appear there. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling Outlook Connector but to no avail.
