Getting help with the Office Outlook Connector

Since the Update i get the message that i need the premium account for outlook connector use ... is email and contacts not free anymore??? before this update everything works fine. :-(

Jared, Outlook 2007 informed me yesterday that I needed to update Outlook Connector in order to keep using it. The about OC windows shows it upgraded to version 12.0.4518.1063. My Hotmail account seems to still work fine but my Office Live Mail Basic account cannot connect. I've tried removing the OLMB account and adding it again but a window pops up saying the OC is now only for subscribers - do you want to subscribe. Is this just a temporary setback or is OC no longer supporting OLMB accounts? Like some of the others here, I have come to rely on OC and Office to track issues and flag messages (and other features like read receipt requests).

Using the Outlook Connector, I can't seem to send anything out through my Hotmail account while I'm connected to my workplace network, but it seems to work fine at home, so I suspect it's a proxy server issue. Is there any way to configure the Outlook Connector for a proxy server?

I have Vista,Outlook 2007 and just installed the final version of Outlook Connector.While with the Beta version I never had problems with my Office Live Basics email accounts now I am receiving the error message Error in Mail

Outlook Connector is available only to subscribers. How do I circumvent the problem?

OK, clearly there is a problem. As with others I was forced to upgrade, if I don't upgrade I can't get my email.

So I upgraded, and so now I still can't get my email. I had version 12.0.4518.1058, this version worked perfectly well for me. No problems.

I was forced to upgrade to 12.0.4518.1063, which now doesn't work. If I allow the connector to upgrade itself, I get the following error:

Network operation failed So I rolled my system back (using system restore).

I then manually updated and received the exact same error. So I rolled my system back again.

I then manually removed my email account from Outlook (after Archiving my every email associated with this account) and de-installed the Outlook Connector. I then installed the latest version (12.0.4518.1063) and received the same error AND:

Outlook Connector is available only to subscribers. So, I rolled my system back again, but still can't access my email through the connector because it is forcing me to upgrade to something that doesn't work. I'm using Outlook 2007 with OfficeLive basics. Again, it worked yesterday morning without issue prior to the upgrade!

I have Outlook 2003 on XP Prof. and everything works fine with the beta version of Outlook Connector.

After automatic update yesterday I can't connect to my Live Mail account. The error message is that Outlook Connector requires a premium account. Without the possibility to read my mails in Outlook there is no request for a Live Mail Account. Thanks

...my wife and daughter's machines have just been "upgraded" to 12.0.4518.1063 too. Now none of us are able to use Outlook :-( What gives? We moved the family's email into the cloud and specifically selected live.com because we could continue to use Outlook via the Outlook connector. But it's no good if it just doesn't work. We're in the UK and all using en-GB versions of Vista/O2k7 in case that's relevant. Clearly a number of people are having this problem - any chance of an update on the situation from you guys? I have the same issue as 'rguitart' though I have a Windows Live Mail account using Custom Domains. SOS!

Outlook 2007 recently prompted me to update Outlook Connector (OC) when it started. After following the upgrade prompts my Windows Live Hotmail account (Custom Domains and Windows Live Hotmail Plus account, actually) quit syncing and a message popped up saying that the network operation failed. When I removed this account from Outlook and re-created it using OC, I get a message that OC is available only to subscribers. But I am a subscriber. It was working fine until the latest 12.0.4518.1063 version. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I can't use Outlook Connector Version 12.0.4518.1063 now that its come out of beta. I have Outlook 2003 with SP3 installed. I am an Office Live Basics user. I can't use Outlook Connector with my Office Live Basics now that it's out of beta. I am using Version 12.0.4518.1063 on Outlook 2003 (with SP3). I used to be able to check my officelive mail and I don't want to sync the calendar (which requires a paid subscription to OfficeLive. ______________ I AM a subscriber to Office Live Basics. I've removed and reinstalled the Connector several times with no luck.

The beta worked fine for me. Since the update I can't get e-mail at all. The whole thing is crippled and causing great difficulties for me as I have other programs integrated into my Outlook e-mail that I can't use.

I Outlook 07 working nicely with the mail downloads from officelive.. but now that functionality is broken. Is that (a) because Microsoft decided to pull a free feature to a "paid feature"

or (b) because there are technical glitches on the back end services if the client upgrade..

or

(c) some problem with my setup. All answers are good answers.. I just dont want to waste my time.. thanks ps: i understand if msft wants to pull back a free feature.. but i also know that they are competing in the world of google.. which offers many of these services free to consumers..

I use the Outlook Connector to access my e-mail on my Office Live domain. [Windows Vista, Office 2007] On Wednesday I noticed that I started getting the message "could not sign in" when trying to update my e-mail. Today I found a discussion on another site that seems to indicate the problem is only happening to those who are trying to synchronize their data to a Windows Mobile device. See this discussion: office-outlook.com/.../220213 My wife doesn't use a PDA, and her Outlook Connector is working just fine on the same computer. So, I'm guessing that they're right. Do any of you use Windows Mobile devices too? Peter West
