"Actually... A password protected section will get synchronized to SkyDrive, but the main problem is that the mobile versions (the webapp and the version on the Windows Phone) unfortunately don't support password protection.

For example; besides a local notebook I also use an online notebook (Skydrive) which I can access using my Win7 computer, my WinXP laptop, my Windows Phone and obviously using the website. When I make changes in the password protected section on either my PC or laptop then the changes easily find their way onto Skydrive. The only problem, you may guessed it, is that I won't be able to open them on either mobile environment."

I'm heavily using OneNote myself and rely on this to keep a lot of passwords and such secured. Best of both worlds; you use one password which you know quite well to protect dozens of other passwords which you use on several websites (or other environments).
