I would like to find a way to send ideas / suggestions directly to the OneNote Team. Is that possible? I love the product, and I use it frequently. However, I feel that there are so many different areas where it needs to be improved. It's finally getting to where it is really useable on a daily basis. I just am getting into it, and I love it. But, there are just so many features that would improve its use, not just for me but also for everyone else. Any ideas on how to do this?

Thank you, Michael, that will be welcome. I need to get a thorough knowledge of what I think is a brilliant piece of software. Having been an Access developer since v1.0 I need to have another string to my bow as well as having a decent project management software program.

@ZakaryV: The "Using Microsoft OneNote 2010" book will be sent to major retailers and booksellers including Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble within the next week or so, after which they will begin selling it. The current street date is confirmed for September 16, 2011 for both Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble in the United States. Other stores and other English-speaking territories may have slightly later ship dates based on available inventory. Sorry for the wait and thank you kindly for your interest. When is Michael Oldenburg's Using OneNote 2010 going to appear? I ordered it from Amazon in January, when the expected delivery date was end March. Now, 4 updates later it is due in early September. Is this really going to happen? All I have is a stylised academic Getting Started book which opens with 5+ pages listing the contributors - for a book with less than 50 pages! OneNote is a superb program and deserves better. Tony Vile, Dundee, Scotland

@nwilkie: Sorry you're having trouble. The error message does indeed suggest that the update was applied by other means, such as Windows Update. I just tried installing this update and I get a message saying "The expected version of the product was not found on the system." I have Office Pro Plus x64, activated through my school's site license. I tried the x86 version just in case, no dice.

The update does not already seem to have been applied, though another update ("Update for Microsoft Office 2010" KB982726) did automatically install through Windows update. I checked to see if the bugs were still there, and this Office update did not fix the searching/OCR issues with OneNote.

Please help, I use this every day for medical school and the search problems are driving me CRAZY!

@swbuehler: You are correct on both counts. The update may not automatically show up for all users of Windows Update depending on their settings, which is why we also wanted to point out its availability and manual installation option. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

Should clarify, it's the bit-version of OFFICE, not WINDOWS, and this update may already be installed if you're using Office Update or Windows Update. the update was already installed on my machine.
