The Data Table command has a 2 Input Variables + 1 Solution limit

Extend the input and solutions to several variables and dump the data in a table of columns of input variables and solutions

Then the table can be used by Pivot tables/graphs etc for analysis

What is the backward compatibilty for grid size? If I have >64k rows and client has older version can they open it? I do not have a 2007 beta to check the compat.

Well, line and area charts occasionally provide interesting insight with massive # of points. Mainly scatter, though.

Thanks for the ideas and feedback, as always. Glad to hear we are already hearing requests for more rows :-).

If others out there have multiple monitors and have other ideas of how we could do better there, please share.

The number of points in a chart series has not changed this release, no. On the list for the future. Beyond scatter plots, what sorts of charts are people building that show huge numbers of points?

Selecting discontinuous cells is another one that we are well aware of, but which will not change in 2007.

Dan, the comments thing is not a bug, but an internal limit.

TechieBird, I am optimistic that some of the internal work we did this time will help in this regard, but I am always happy to look at workbooks that have problem, so feel free to contact me.

Tianwei, the limit has been increased to 1 million.

So, do I understand right that max no. of points in a chart series is still 32K? It would be very disappointing.

I cant remember clearly whether you covered it or not before, but Pivot Table unique items limit of 8000 is very far behind need. Should be as limit as the row limit for display.
