Social media done easy

Morale Event web databaseIf you think back to around Valentine's Day of this year, you might remember our post about AccessLove, a social-media-type Access web database that became very popular with Microsoft employees. As a result of that response, the creators of AccessLove decided to present a "how we did it" session to show how easily anyone could build a similar system from scratch. We recorded that session, and now you can watch the videos and follow along with the procedures on Office.com! You'll learn some great tips for designing a professional-looking form, creating a data macro, and publishing to Access Services.

On a side note, all of us content publishers here at Microsoft are very interested to know what you think of this type of article, where we walk you through a scenario from start to finish, instead of having you dig through a collection of feature-based articles. Do you think this scenario-based content can help more people learn Access faster? If so, what other scenarios do you think we should cover? Please leave a comment and let us know!

  • That's been fantastically carried out guys! :-) Could you please use the same format and prepare an article(with videos) about preparing customised ribbons in Access 2007? Something along the lines of what you see in figure 8-2 at msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd548008(v=office.12).aspx

  • Thanks grovelli! Glad you liked it, and great suggestion re. the customized ribbons.
