Resize forms with ShrinkerStretcher v11.0

Peter asked me to pass this along to our readers.

Los Angeles, CA - For immediate release: Celebrating thirteen years of helping developers create better Microsoft® Access applications, Peter's Software announces the release of ShrinkerStretcher v11.0 for Microsoft Access.

ShrinkerStretcher is an add-on module for Access that will dynamically resize/rescale Microsoft Access forms, fonts, and controls to fit any screen resolution, desktop scheme, font setting, or form window size. Using ShrinkerStretcher means the developer can create applications without concern for the end user's display settings! An application designed at a screen resolution of 1024x768 can be scaled up to 1280x1024, down to 800x600, or to any other resolution.

ShrinkerStretcher supports varied display settings including any resolution, small-large-custom fonts, wide scroll bars, thick borders, and more. Many new Access 2010 and 2007 features are supported, including tabbed forms, layout groups, and control anchors, as well as the standard Access controls familiar to Access 2003, 2002 and 2000 developers. Version 11.0 includes support for Access 2010, and optional centering of controls on the screen.

A trial version of ShrinkerStretcher v11.0 is available from the Peter's Software web site at www.peterssoftware.com.

(Requires Microsoft Access 2010, 2007, 2003, 2002, or 2000)

  • Yes this has been a problem with Access. I will have a look at it.

  • I have used this product for about 3 years and for one major application (80 + users all over the US) it has been an absolute god send, it freed me up from worrying about all the different screen resolutions out there and concentrate on the application. Thanks Peter for being a lifesaver Note to the Access Team... License this from Peter and put this into Access 15

  • Bruce: In my opinion, it should have been a "natural" feature of Access since its first version. It's late now... but better late then never. At least, they could include it in A2010.

  • Personally, I find it a shame that pple charges others for such simple tool. I'm sure it has its uses but this feature is plain as water. I've made my own personal [resizer] (not shrinker/stretcher) that will resize form controls' width/height wise as the developer (me) set it to be, when the form is being resized/maximize so to make full use of the screen resolution. This could extend to be configurable for developers too. But with my current joblessness, I don't feel I want to touch on anything I can feed myself, utter depressive to be extremely smart yet can't get a job. Jem
