There are some great posts written about different investments across the suite of Office client products. Here is a quick guide to the group’s announcement:

On the page seen by clicking on "Office Extensibility: What’s New for Developers in Office 2010?" there is a paragraph which reads, "Even easier to create rich solutions on top of Access 2010 – Check out the following video (the word "video" is a hyperlink) to see all the cool improvements related to Access. This is a new model for development that we think you'll really enjoy." Unfortunately, clicking on the link which should take us to the video results in an error message.
The duff link points at www.microsoft.com/.../Access®%202010, i.e. it has a copyright symbol in it. Alan
Woops, sorry. It has a registered trade mark symbol in it, not a copyright symbol (As the old song goes, "My eyes are dim, I cannot see, I have not brought my specs with me.") Alan
One more comment. I've had a look at the Office 2010 Application Security blog and can see nothing about user-level security in Access 2010. For me, taking away user-level security in Access 2007 was a seriously bad move and has meant I've had to keep a couple of customers on the .mdb format even with it easily breakable user-level security (which is better than none as in the .accdb format). Has anything been introduced into Access 2010 to rectify this problem, please? Alan
@Alan If you go to www.microsoft.com/.../2010
and click at the Access 2010 link there, you can view the video. But you'll see that it has nothing for developers and almost nothing about new features in 2010. It's just 2 minutes "What is Access all about" for people who've never seen it.
@Alan - the world of security has canged dramatically since user level security (ULS) was introduced. We have sme minor user level expressions coming but nothing that will bring to ACCDB files the type of functionality ULS provided. Keep in mind--if you need ULS it is still available in MDB databases.
Clint,
Thanks for letting us know. Alan
Clint, Pls i want to know how far your team has gone in making access a web developmet platform the way alphafive and filemaker have gone? thanks. Daniel Isoje
