Counting the days…

Sal Ricciardi of the Access Developer Documentation team has produced a couple of articles for MSDN that address two commonly-asked date-related questions about Access:

Thanks Sal!

  • The first article listed is very thorough. I had not realized using automation could provide access to excel's function set. I enjoyed the date article too. Good job.

  • I am including a question here that is also related to Access and Excel. Access has a function that allows transferring an Access report to an Excel spread sheet. I was wondering how much of the report's format is also transferred to Excel. For example, I have a report in Access that uses vertical text in labels. It is a crosstab. These labels form the headers of the columns, and having them vertical gives me a way to include more information for each column heading.

In order to achieve this I set the Vertical property of the label to true and also gave it the Arial CYR font. (It didn’t work with other fonts. This was a tip I received from one of the pro’s.) Now, when transferring this report to Excel, will the headers of the report appear vertical in Excel? I hope the next version of Access will allow this.

    Thanks

    Gilad
