The team recently eclipsed 10 million downloads of Access 2007 templates. Quite frequently I hear from template users  about the need to change the application to match their business process. Additionally, I hear from people about the need to build a new database to solve a emerging business problem. Here is the most recent example:

I'm looking to create a database where my inventory can be tracked via a scanner. I want each model to have its own specific barcode that can be scanned in upon delivery and will appear in my database with Description and Price. If a department in my building requests this item, I will then scan it out and it will be allocated to the requesting department.

Many times users don’t have the time or interest in learning how to build good relational databases—they prefer to hire a consultant.

  • Hi there, That is a good news. I must say something from point of freelance coder. I will not mention extremely complicated interface. :) The number of projects for MS Access only posted on Elance is low. Not sure why. And most of them have additional coder skills (like Web programming) which buyers usually ask even if its not needed. To work on such a project coder should pay to make him possible bid on MS Access project. I have spent couple of hours on Elance (most of the time trying to figure the interface and what I need to do) just to get to a point to see the MS Access open projects and I found 3 related to MS Access, 2 of them requires Web skills. On the other freelance Web site (I won't mention the name now) I can get several projects per day awarded - of course I cannot do them all, but this just illustrates the number of projects related to MS Access posted. Clint, if you are interested for more details (my personal opinion) feel free to e-mail me. Regards,
