When you’re heads-down in data, you might not want to waste time poking around the internet to figure out how to deal with a tricky task. With the free Excel video tutorials app, you can launch how-to videos right from the Ribbon in Excel.
These are the same free Excel 2013 video training courses that you can already watch online, except now you can launch and watch them without leaving your worksheet. They cover a wide range of topics, from creating your first worksheet to working with PivotTables. And we’re always adding more.
To install the app:
1. View the app in the Office Store and click Add. (You’ll need your Microsoft account for this part.)
2. Open Excel 2013.
3. Click Insert Apps for Office
4. In the Apps for Office list, select Excel video tutorials and click Insert.
You’ll now see the app in your worksheet:
In the app, you can search for task-specific videos using the search box in the top-right corner. Videos typically last from two to five minutes, so you’ll be sure to get the answers to your questions quickly.
Or, click Browse all Excel tutorials to see the full list of in-depth video tutorials and find deeper instruction about how to use Excel features to get your work done. Each tutorial contains two to five videos.
User tip: You can move the app anywhere in your worksheet so that you can watch videos and see your data at the same time. Just move your mouse cursor to the edge of the app until you see the four-headed arrow, then drag the app to where you want it.
Use this app, and you’ll be a click or two away from getting the video help you need when you need it!
