Good tidings to our Office 365 customers

As the New Year quickly approaches, we wanted to take a moment and thank all of our customers for choosing Office 365 this year!

We are humbled to provide a wide range of customers with familiar, secure, and reliable cloud services.  It’s gratifying to be able to help non-profits like Oxfam and Emergency expand the scope of their international initiatives of combatting poverty, providing aid and promoting human rights across the globe ultimately serving more people in need.

We are thrilled that Office 365 is helping Toyota’s 200,000 employees work better together across regions and time zones, while also enabling the Make-A-Wish Foundation in South Carolina to grant “Wishes” to sick children by freeing up managers’ time to source donations instead of worrying about maintaining their IT.

Our customers are our first priority and we’ve worked hard to address a wide range of their business requirements. This year we worked with a consortium of academic institutions to inform a Business Associates Agreement (BAA), in order to ensure it met their organizations’ U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements. As a result, Microsoft now offers the most comprehensive agreement to all organizations managing personal health data, making possible for leading universities like Duke University, Emory University, Thomas Jefferson University, University of Iowa and the University of Washington take advantage of Office 365 for education and improve communication and collaboration across campuses while meeting security, privacy and other regulatory requirements.

You asked and we listened. In addition to offering the most comprehensive HIPAA BAAs for all customers managing personal health data, Office 365 supports the most rigorous global and regional standards such as ISO 27001, SAS70 Type II, EU Safe Harbor, EU Model Clauses, the US Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and the US Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).

What’s more, our expansion this year into 47 new markets, including China, brings our global footprint to 89 markets and 32 languages take advantage of the continuous improvements to the service.

From our small business customers like Imagination Yoga and Naturally Me, our enterprise customers like Hallmark and Lowes to our government customers like Department of Veteran’s Affairs and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, we truly appreciate your business and for working with us to identify how we can better serve your needs.

With the release of the new Office in the first quarter of 2013, we are excited about the year ahead and look forward to our continued work together.
