As Nathaniel mentioned in his The New Team Site post a few weeks ago, you can add a new app called “Site Mailbox” to a SharePoint 2013 team site. A site mailbox brings Exchange emails and SharePoint documents together, allowing members of your site to have access to all important project communications. It also enables your members to view documents and add new ones to your SharePoint site’s document libraries right from Outlook 2013. The awesome folks in Exchange talked about it in more detail on their You Had me at EHLO blog last week, so make sure to check out their Site Mailboxes post.
Site Mailboxes is just the first of several scenarios that really come together across SharePoint, Exchange, and Lync in the 2013 release – so stay tuned for more posts on this blog about more suite-wide scenarios. And, of course, when you sign up for the SharePoint Online preview at Office.com/Preview, you’ll get the whole Office 365 suite as well, so you can take Site Mailboxes and other suite-wide scenarios for a test run.
